First person horror game with Swedish fantasy creatures

Unforgiving - A Northern Hymn is a horror game set in the dark woods of Northern Europe. Explore a gripping story featuring monsters from Scandinavian folklore.

Into the dark

Drawing heavy inspiration from Swedish myth, Unforgiving - A Northern Hymn is a first person horror game with a greater focus on atmosphere and storytelling than innovative gameplay. Fans of similar games like Outlast 2 will find the standard light based mechanics and jump scares familiar, perhaps even repetitive, but the stronger elements of the game are enough to create an engaging experience. Players follow a group of individuals lost in the woods, encountering bizarre creatures, and fighting for their lives. While the gameplay and graphics are serviceable at best, the clear love for the subject material and unique setting lift the game above mediocre and into decent. A single play-through will only last for around 3 hours, however, with little to do in subsequent runs.

Deja vu

Unforgiving - A Northern Hymn is a solid horror game with a heavy reliance on genre standards. Those interested in the material can expect some welcome cultural flavour and creepy beasts.
